Operations Diving/Construction Manager

We are searching for an Offshore (Diving /Construction) Manager who will work in Nigeria and in the West Africa area. We need experienced personnel to lead a team of workers to execute tasks. Tasks may include the rigging of structures, the directing of the crane driver during the lifting operation, the operating of simple survey and measuring equipment, diving operation and any other tasks that come at hand in the execution of the work or the operation of the vessel.

– manage and control execution of part of Contract work on board of the vessel, as assigned

– direct Subcontractors on task execution, planning and operational issues

– Prepares, supervises and approves the development of PEP from construction point of view and its implementation,  plus ensuring Lessons are properly documented throughout the life of the project including project Close Out.

– Manage and verse the day-to-day construction management of the project
– direct the assigned staff on task execution, planning and operational issues
– responsible for the mobilization and execution of the assigned project scope of work.  Implementation of the scope of work as related to construction/fabrication, precommissioning, load-out and offshore installation hook-up and offshore pre-commissioning and commissioning of the facilities in conformance with project specifications, scope of work and in accordance with the approved Project Schedule

– on board contact point for assigned subcontractors and for assigned crew
– on board contact point for shore organization during mobilization, as assigned
– hand-over of project tasks to back-to-back crew and relieve crew of the vessel execution team.

– Ensures all changes to specifications, work scope and drawings are documented

– Define clear roles and responsibilities and deliverable requirements in terms of both scope and schedule to all the team members

– at least 5-8 years’ exp. in construction industry (construction supervision/marine operations)
– experienced in marine construction (heavy lifting offshore, transportation and installation)
– informed on technical and engineering aspects of the (subsea) offshore industry

– Manages the construction effort and be the construction representative of our company with client. To plan, develop and organize the construction effort to formulate the most-cost effective plan to timely completion within budget and to implement the execution of that plan

– Reviews man-hours and duration forecasts to completion for onshore construction and man-hours duration and manning forecasts for offshore hook-up and offshore installation durations and resource requirements. Monitor construction productivity and schedule performance and investigate reasons for less than satisfactory performance. Provide recommendations and institute measures for improvement by modifications to operating procedure/work instructions.

– Adhere to company safety standards and promote safety culture among the ranks throughout the company

– Any other ad-hoc projects and duties as required by the management

– Basic knowledge of Diving/ROV capabilities/limitations, BSc in engineering discipline, 8-10 years relevant exp. in O&G and Offshore Construction Industry.

- Extensive experience in the oil and gas offshore construction industry managing DSVs and other types of DP vessels.

– Must have worked in West Africa, Asia and/or India

– Must possess construction experience in offshore structures and/or submarine pipeline installations projects
